Bank Insurance Scheme

January 17th, 2009 · No Comments

I read that the government is proposing a new way of giving the banks more of our money.  A "bank insurance scheme" or a way of funding the banks without nationalizing them.

Screw that, if these businesses are not sound let them fail. Stop giving them money to stay afloat when they are obviously not good at what they were set up to do.

Why does this government think that we the taxpayer wants to continue to fund these ("merchant") bankers.  Let them fail, force these incompetent fools out onto the street and let those who can do business pick up the pieces cheaply.

Whatever happened to the idea that we should pay for our mistakes?  The bankers have fooled the Labour government into believing that the taxpayer should bail them out again.  All of this based on the idea that the banks will suddenly start lending again.  Fat chance of that.  They will simply pick up the cheap money that the fools in Government dole out and build their profits back up at a huge cost to the taxpayer.

You can not borrow your way out of debt. It is like giving an alcoholic a case of whisky every day….  The blame for this mess lies with the banks and the Labour governments incompetence.  Time for a change………………
