November 26th, 2008 · No Comments

It would appear that the last time the price of oil was below $50 per barrel was back in 2004 and early 2005.  Way back then the price of a litre of unleaded petrol was 85.2p.

Currently we are still suffering prices that are on average 7pence per litre higher than in November 2004. [...]

If the price of Oil is $79 per barrel why is the pump price so high?

October 10th, 2008 · No Comments

It [...]

The Criminal Class

October 7th, 2008 · No Comments

During these ‘interesting times’ a quote from Mark Twain comes to mind;
“It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress.”

This was penned back in 1897 but could this be seen as an appropriate way of describing the current reality of what is going on [...]

Through the post came the new credit cards, ready to be placed in a safe place.  Nowadays the credit card companies take great pains and go to great lengths to ensure that the cards are not intercepted and snatched away before they have been delivered to the rightful owners.
A number of card companies have [...]

AIG & CDS’s why is this important to us?

September 19th, 2008 · No Comments

In an interesting article by Adam Davidson on Reuters explains in simple terms why AIG’s trouble is something that is important for us.
In a turbulent week in the financial markets and at a time when the rest of us are feeling the pinch with increases in fuel and food prices, the idea that CDS’s [...]
