Fierce Conversation

April 18th, 2008 · No Comments

In Susan Scott’s book Fierce Conversations she explains how to make relationships meaningful and successful by focusing on “one conversation at a time”.

Her model offers a good way to make sure you deal with the things you need to deal with in conversations, while showing that you can avoid the collateral damage it’s easy to inflict when doing so.  The real essence of the book - how to navigate through the difficult conversations you need to have. “Fierce Conversations” could have been called “A practical way to have the hard conversations without getting into an argument”, which is what this is really about.  She outlines principles that offer ways to avoid wild, hostile, or vicious behaviour, which the title “Fierce” might suggest.

This book can inspire you to tackle those conversations you know you need to have “one conversation at a time”, because “The conversation is the relationship”.
