It is less than a week to the inline skate race at Goodwood Motor Circuit.  The race is over 11 laps of the racing track covering 26.62 miles. (Just a bit longer than a marathon). 

After last year I was determined to train harder and be better prepared for this event.  Unfortunately the British weather has made it more difficult to skate than I had hoped (not very easy in the rain) and a bout of piggy flu has meant that I am not as fit as I would have liked.

If this all sounds like an excuse, you may be right, however I am determined to complete the race and post a faster time than last year.  In fact I would like to skate the course in 1hr 45min or less.

I am now trying to figure out how fast I must travel to achieve this…. 15.21mph!

Hopefully the weather will play its part and not blow a gale and it will not rain!
