This sucks.
Savers with Icesave have lost their savings as the bank is declared insolvent. The Icelandic government took control of the bank and has prevented savers taking their money out. Why can’t the mortgage companies go bust and leave the home owners with no debts to pay. As sort of reverse insolvency.

It seems that the savers, who trusted the banks have been shafted. Those who had the sense to save money and put it away for their future have been punished for being sensible. Yet the banks who have proven themselves to be incompetent are getting away with this theft.

I think it is high time that motgage holders decide not to pay any more and tell the banks to stuff off. The public has had enough of being shafted by these greedy thieves.
